Raw Book Editing came about in 2012. For the first few years, it
was a side project in conjunction with a book review blog, Raw Books Online.
Projects were only accepted on a limited basis as the review blog took up the
majority of our time. Once the requests to work with us started to take over,
Raw Books Online had to be sacrificed so Raw Book Editing could be the focus of
our attention. We are still avid readers and reviewers (when time allows), but
working with authors is where our passions truly lie.
I’m Mandy. I run this show. I’ve been a freelance editor for over
six years after stepping out of the
classroom as a teacher to focus on growing
my family. Once my kids were in school, I wanted something fulfilling to do
that would also allow me to be there for my family. After doing Beta-reading
and proofreading for a few authors while running my book review blog, I pursued
editing as a means to fulfill my word-nerd heart.

years. I have a degree in Education, and I further my learning through the
Freelance Editor’s Association and various other professional tools and
I’m Sarah, a
30-something-year-old mom and animal lover. Reading has always been a passion
of mine since I picked up my first romance novel at the tender age of 11
(thanks, Mom)! In high school, I always had my nose buried in a book, and in
college, I took that love for reading and applied it to a major in English and
minor in writing.
held many jobs since I graduated college, all of them have centered around the
written word. Textbook editor, proposal writer, technical editor, and technical
writer are just some of the titles I have held. My current full-time job of
Quality Assurance Manager keeps me busy, but my passion lies in editing and
reading novels in my spare time.
